Notes

'Perseus' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Perseus') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Its fragrant flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees. The inside of each bloom is phlox pink with rhodonite red veins, and the outside is violet-red.

Pairs well with Stella de Oro daylily, Black Parrot tulip, and Blue grama.
