Notes

'Persian Carpet' zinnia (Zinnia haageana 'Persian Carpet') is an annual for borders, containers, cut flowers, and pollinator gardens. It is tender to cold, and the first hard frost will kill it. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, loamy soil. The red, orange, and yellow blooms open in summer and again in autumn, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit them. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. This heirloom has warm, rich colors.

Pairs well with Globe amaranth, Double Click Rose Bon Bon cosmos, and Red fescue.
