'Purple Dynamite' Persian lily (Fritillaria persica 'Purple Dynamite') is a bulb. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Shiny, almost metallic, grape purple bells open on tall spikes in early to late spring and turn purple-black with age. Plant the bulb sideways and mix sand or grit into the hole to prevent rotting. Add winter mulch in cool zones, and give it afternoon shade in summer in warmer ones.

Pairs well with Snowdrop, Queen of Night tulip, and Blue fescue.
