Notes

'Philippe Vapelle' crane's-bill (Geranium 'Philippe Vapelle') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Purplish blue flowers with dark purple veins open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Butterflies visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Prairie dropseed, Irish moss, and Bridal wreath spiraea.
