Notes

'Picardy' clematis (Clematis 'Picardy') is a vine for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its purple-red blooms have red stripes and open in spring, summer, and autumn, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Mogens Nyegaard Olesen bred it in 2002.

Pairs well with Etoile Violette clematis, New Dawn rose, and Madame Julia Correvon clematis.
