Notes
'Picimelli' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Picimelli') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Kelway bred it in 1889. Cut the blooms to bring them indoors, and give the shrub a spot where it can stay for years.
Pairs well with Hinoki cypress, Astilbe, Prairie dropseed, and Black Parrot tulip.
