Notes

'Picturesque' peony (Paeonia 'Picturesque') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The cream blooms have pink edges, light yellow shading, and violet-red flares in early to late spring, and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Derek Irvine bred it.

Pairs well with Jackmanii clematis, Lily, and Irish moss.
