Notes
'Pinafore' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Pinafore') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Myron D. Bigger bred it in 1991. The Japanese-type flowers are dainty and range from deep pink to red. Strong stems hold them up well, and the clear foliage reaches about 30 inches tall.
Pairs well with Maiden pink, Sedge, Grape hyacinth, and Switchgrass.
