Notes
'Pinky Winky' panicle hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculata 'Pinky Winky') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its conical, fragrant flower heads open creamy white in summer and age to pink and red in fall. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms, and you can cut some for a dried display in autumn.
Pairs well with Big Daddy hosta, Western sword fern, and American hornbeam.
