Notes
'Pistachio' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Pistachio') is a shrub for borders, containers, shade gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet soil of most types. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It stays compact at 2 to 3 feet tall and wide and rarely needs pruning. It blooms on old and new wood.
Pairs well with Astilbe, Japanese forest grass, Siebold's hosta, and Cinnamon fern.
