Notes

'Polka' weigela (Weigela Florida 'Polka') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, hedges, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Fragrant pink blooms with yellow throats appear in spring and again in summer, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer tend to browse other plants first. The arching shrub is also salt tolerant.

Pairs well with Bobo hydrangea, Blue fescue, and Earth Angel hosta.
