Notes

'Potomac' lagerstroemia (Lagerstroemia indica 'Potomac') is a shrub for specimen plantings, hedges, privacy screens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Pink flowers open from early to late summer and again in early autumn, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. The dense growth fills in fast, so you can use it as a screen.

Pairs well with Chaste tree, Blue star, and Big bluestem.
