Notes

'Prairie Star' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Prairie Star') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant white blooms have a light yellow center and open in early summer. Each stem carries 2 to 4 buds, and the stems are strong. Don Hollingsworth bred it, and it grows about 35 inches tall.

Pairs well with Sedge, Grape hyacinth, Shrub rose, and Ageratum.
