Notes

'Prince of Japs' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Prince of Japs') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type blooms are dark ox-blood red with a petaloid center of the same color. It is a strong grower of medium height. Mr. and Mrs. John M. Lewis bred it.

Pairs well with Maiden pink, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Carlton daffodil.
