Notes
'Princess Alva' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Princess Alva') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its flowers are single and red, so they make a bold color accent in a mixed border. E. J. Berneche bred this cultivar, and you can cut the blooms for a vase.
Pairs well with Coralbells, Baby's breath, and Spanish bluebell.
