Notes

'Pristina' peony (Paeonia 'Pristina') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It has deep red petals with a black center and blooms in early to late spring. Derek Irvine bred it in 2001.

Pairs well with Burnet, Lily, and Endless Summer hydrangea.
