Notes

'Purple Emperor' orpine (Hylotelephium telephium 'Purple Emperor') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a clump 12 to 18 inches tall with dusky pinkish purple blooms. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Nodding onion, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Limeglow creeping juniper.
