Notes

'Purple Lilac' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Purple Lilac') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The purple flowers lighten toward the edge of the petals and have a dark center. Derek Irvine bred it, and Southern Charm Paeonies introduced it in 2001.

Pairs well with Solomon's seal, Annabelle hydrangea, Black Parrot tulip, and Ostrich fern.
