Notes

'Purple Sensation' common hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis 'Purple Sensation') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. The violet flowers are fragrant and open in early to late spring. Bees visit the blooms. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Gipsy Queen common hyacinth, Botanical tulip, and White Splendour Greek thimbleweed.
