Notes

'Quinte' apple (Malus domestica 'Quinte') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Agriculture Canada bred it in 1964. The fruit ripens early and has good flavor, and it is grown for fresh juice and cooking. Bees visit the spring blooms, and the fruit keeps for 2 to 3 weeks.

Pairs well with Amur maple, Blazing star, and Ostrich fern.
