Notes

'Rare China' peony (Paeonia 'Rare China') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The large, flat, semi-double white blooms have light pink shading, a golden-yellow center, and a sweet fragrance. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Ernest Flint Kelsey bred it.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Moonshine yarrow, Cheerfulness daffodil, and Sedge.
