Notes

'Raspberry Surprise' carnation (Dianthus 'Raspberry Surprise') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, rock gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and the flowers are fragrant. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Deep Blue Clips tussock bellflower, Lavender, and Blue fescue.
