Notes

'Red Rum' lupine (Lupinus 'Red Rum') is a perennial. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Red wings and rose banners with a flush of white make a subtle tricolor bloom from early to late summer, and bees visit the flowers. It goes semi-dormant after blooming, so plant it behind something one foot tall and cut it back six inches after flowering to encourage new growth and reblooming.

Pairs well with Blush peony, Sedge, Campfire rose, and Picture tulip.
