Notes

'Masterpiece' lupine (Lupinus 'Masterpiece') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall.

Pairs well with Fringe of Gold iris, Bartzella peony, Globemaster allium, and Honesty.
