Notes

'Red Sun' blanket flower (Gaillardia grandiflora 'Red Sun') is a perennial for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms, which open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. It handles drought and salt well. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Hidcote lavender, Sapphire alpine oatgrass, and Stonecrop.
