Notes
Rhododendron (Rhododendron cerasinum) is a shrub for woodland gardens, shade borders, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade. Bell-shaped flowers open in early to late spring in lax trusses of 3 to 7. The color runs from scarlet to cherry-red with dark nectaries at the base. Low afternoon light makes the blooms glow like fire.
Pairs well with Lady fern, Snowdrop, and White bigleaf hydrangea.
