Notes
Rhododendron (Rhododendron heliolepis) is a shrub for borders, woodland gardens, and screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Pink to lavender-purple, funnel-shaped flowers open in early summer. The small, glossy leaves smell aromatic on a warm day and turn chocolate brown in winter. Mix chunky bark mulch into the soil for extra drainage.
Pairs well with Ruby rose, Western redbud, and Snowdrop.
