Notes

'Romance' carnation (Dianthus 'Romance') is a perennial for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. The flowers are fragrant and attract butterflies and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Deep Blue Clips tussock bellflower, Early Sunrise largeflower tickseed, and Lavender.
