Notes

'Rosehill' white ash (Fraxinus americana 'Rosehill') is a tree for specimen planting, shade gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Purplish green flowers open in early to late spring and draw butterflies, bees, and birds. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Fall color brightens the tree each year.

Pairs well with Swamp white oak, Hummingbird sweet pepperbush, and Fire and Ice hosta.
