Notes

'Autumn Purple' white ash (Fraxinus americana 'Autumn Purple') is a tree for specimen use, shade gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast into a tall oval shape and turns color in fall. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Bees, butterflies, and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Hummingbird sweet pepperbush, Sensitive fern, Fire and Ice hosta, and Picture tulip.
