Notes

'Patmore' green ash (Fraxinus pennsylvanica 'Patmore') is a tree for use as a specimen, in shade gardens, and for winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It grows at a rapid rate and tolerates drought and salt. Greenish-purple flowers open in early to late spring and attract butterflies, bees, and birds.

Pairs well with Bur oak, Sedge, Big bluestem, and Gladiator ornamental onion.
