Notes

'Rosenrot' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Rosenrot') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant, semi-double flowers open in mid spring. Petals shift from pale pink to deep red at the heart, with darker red flares. Irmtraud Rieck bred it, and the young leaves have a bronze tint.

Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, September Charm anemone, and Sedge.
