Notes

'Rosenwein' sage (Salvia nemorosa 'Rosenwein') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy soil. Rose-pink to rose-red flowers open in late spring, summer, and autumn, and they draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The fragrant clumps stay 12 to 18 inches tall and tolerate drought.

Pairs well with Standing Ovation little bluestem, Shirley Temple peony, Quick Fire panicle hydrangea, and Black Parrot tulip.
