Notes

'Rosewill' peony (Paeonia 'Rosewill') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The flowers open in early to late spring in dark red or coral-red with cream undertones and black flares. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Butterflies visit the blooms, and Derek Irvine bred this peony.

Pairs well with Korean spice viburnum, Blue fescue, and Niobe clematis.
