Notes
'Royal Crest' hosta (Hosta 'Royal Crest') is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. It grows 24 to 36 inches tall and spreads 47 to 59 inches, so give it room. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Bees and hummingbirds visit the flowers.
Pairs well with Solomon's seal, Vision in PInk Chinese astilbe, Bride's feathers, and Sedge.
