Notes

'Royal Heritage' Lenten rose (Helleborus hybridus 'Royal Heritage') is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland settings, ground cover, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part to full shade and average moisture. Cup-shaped flowers open in late winter to early spring in white, purple, and red, and they are spotted with contrasting colors. The evergreen leaves form a mound 12 to 18 inches tall. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Marginal wood fern, Lime Marmalade coral bells, and May-apple.
