Notes

'Ruby Gold' bleeding heart (Lamprocapnos spectabilis 'Ruby Gold') is a perennial for shade gardens, cottage gardens, and woodland borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry soil. Gold leaves flushed with red appear in spring on coral red stems. Red heart-shaped flowers hang from arching stems and bloom for a long time in early to late spring. The plant may go dormant in summer if the soil stays dry.

Pairs well with Black hellebore, New York fern, and Yellow root.
