Notes
'Valentine' dicentra (Lamprocapnos spectabilis 'Valentine') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist soil of most types. It blooms in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees visit the flowers. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Paula Fay peony, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Incrediball hydrangea.
