Notes

'Hordival' bleeding heart (Lamprocapnos spectabilis 'Hordival') is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland settings, borders, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It forms a clump 18 to 24 inches tall and wide. Wine red and white flowers open from early to late spring and draw butterflies and hummingbirds.

Pairs well with Lungwort, Bellwort, and Amazing Grace tulip.
