Notes

'Ruby' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ruby') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears light red, semi-double blooms in early to mid spring. Edward Auten, Jr bred it, and the flowers have clear color and good substance.

Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, Black Hero tulip, Hollyhock, and Blue sage.
