Notes

'Scarlet Fire' Chinese dogwood (Cornus kousa 'Scarlet Fire') is a tree for borders, specimen planting, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. In time it grows 20 to 30 feet tall and 15 to 20 feet wide. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Birds, bees, and butterflies visit it.

Pairs well with Lady's mantle, Siebold's hosta, and Pale yellow-eyed grass.
