Notes

'Schweizer Spitze' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Schweizer Spitze') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large white semi-double flowers open in early to mid spring and smell fragrant. The ruffled, frilled petals give the blooms a lacy look. Rolf and Anne-Käthi Vogt-Barth bred it, and the plant spreads broadly to about 40 inches tall.

Pairs well with Rose, Switchgrass, and Garlic chives.
