Notes

'Scott James' peony (Paeonia 'Scott James') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The semi-double flowers are cream heavily flushed with rose and open in early to late spring. John and Dot McFarlane introduced it in 1997. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Niobe clematis, Lily, and Bells of Ireland.
