Notes

Sedge (Carex cherokeensis) is a grass for borders, ground cover, shade gardens, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It forms an evergreen clump with pendulous flower and seed stalks in late spring. It grows slowly and needs little care.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, Blue star, and Hardy hibiscus.
