Notes
'Sendo-nishiki' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Sendo-nishiki') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The mid season flowers are large and dark Tyrian pink with a Japanese form. Pink-tinged staminodes fill the center of each bloom, and they carry no pollen. The plant stays medium size and compact.
Pairs well with Great blue lobelia, Lanceleaf coreopsis, Phantom panicle hydrangea, and Spanish bluebell.
