Notes

'Sensational' lavandin (Lavandula intermedia 'Sensational') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, pollinator gardens, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Dark purple flowers sit on branched stems above grey-green leaves and open in summer, then again in autumn. Bees and butterflies visit the fragrant blooms. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Elfin mother of thyme, Millenium ornamental onion, Autumn moor grass, and Miss Violet wand butterflybush.
