Sericea clematis

Notes

'Sericea' clematis (Clematis chrysocoma 'Sericea') is a vine for trellises, arbors, and fences. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full or part sun. Masses of pure white flowers open around greenish yellow centers in mid to late spring. It grows at a somewhat slower rate than a similar Montana clematis, so it is easier to manage. It may rebloom later in the summer, and it belongs to pruning group A.

Pairs well with Gypsy rose, Western redbud, and Fountain grass.
