Notes

'Sharon' apple (Malus domestica 'Sharon') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It has a dense habit and grows at a moderate rate. Bees visit the blooms in early to late spring. Iowa State Agricultural Experiment Station bred it from McIntosh and Longfield in 1906.

Pairs well with Nepeta, Garlic chives, and Kentucky bluegrass.
