'Shèng Shì Fēi Huā' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Shèng Shì Fēi Huā') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant, purplish pink single flowers open in mid to late spring. Each bloom has dark black-red flares at the petal bases. Young leaves are red, and the narrow upright plant can reach 68 inches tall.

Pairs well with Jeana garden phlox, Curly Fries hosta, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
