Notes

'Sherwood Flame' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Sherwood Flame') is a tree for specimen, accent, and woodland plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It grows slowly into a broad shape, and it can reach 14 to 16 feet tall. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Reddish-purple blooms open in early to late spring, and bees visit them.

Pairs well with Oakleaf hydrangea, Green and gold, and Blue mistflower.
